fireewood set
This set really takes out the fox and coon if you do it right.
It is especially handy for the camping trapper.
Firewood set:
Build a fire out of wood and tinder and stuff of the likes. Eat a dinner of whatever you want. But if you want, you can adjust for what you intend to trap. To me it makes no difference. I typically bring some trout or bluegill, a hot dog or two and a marshmallow pack. Typical campout foods. When the fire dies down, and you just have hot coals, Throw the fish heads and parts, hot dog scraps, and a marshmallow or two in the coals, and then rake some coals over them.
Then, bed traps all around the coals and under them so they arent seen. If you are trapping coon, you could bring one of those plastic hot dogs from a kids playset and atttatch it to your trap pan and not even bed it so a coon will grab it before it leaves.
FOr fox, i like to set one or two about 10 of 15 yards away and in opposite sides and just faintly bait them with contrasring lures like mice or glands.
After the set is made, i like to finish off with a little squirt of fish oil on the coals.
Don't worry about scent.

PS this is a killer loop hole cause it isnt really bait, its just a campsite, but that isnt saying that it is okay to sneak around and brake the law.........Keep it legal
