I like dirthole sets with a #1 3/4 duke set at the front. They like to hunt open fields and check the piles and patches of brush that may be hiding a chipmunk, rabbir, mouse , or other furbearer...they also love to travel logging roads and intersections of loggong roads are killer places to make the 3 hole set i described earlier.

Re: coyote trapping?
Around here dirtholes are good, but that isn't my best set. We have barbwire fences everywhere! I get almost all my yotes at these fences and mostly get foxes at the dirtholes. You can set all different traps on fence rows, that is why i like em so much! you don't have to have bait, all you need is to see hair on the barbs and you set a trap there. i catch different furbearers on this kind of trapline but you catch more this way. and fencerows are great for beginners in snaring and other kinds of traps!
